    Students will:

    • Study God's Word and Lutheran doctrine.

    • Learn the Small Catechism and key Christian teachings.

    • Serve as acolytes during worship throughout the Catechism program as part of their preparation for the Rite of Confirmation.

FAITH FORMATION

Catechism

Catechism, also known as Confirmation classes, is a three-year faith formation program for students in grades 6–8. Through the study of Scripture, Lutheran doctrine, discussion, and worship, students deepen their understanding of God's Word and prepare for the Rite of Confirmation.

FAITH JOURNEY

Rite of Confirmation

Students who complete the three-year Catechism program publicly affirm their faith during the Rite of Confirmation, which is typically held each spring during our Contemporary Worship service.

The Rite of Confirmation is the culmination of the Catechism program and does not require separate registration.

Family, friends, and the congregation gather to celebrate this important milestone in the faith journey of our students.

Events & Service

Throughout the year, our youth participate in Iowa District West Youth Gatherings, the LCMS National Youth Gathering, and a variety of service projects within our church and community.

As part of their ongoing service, our youth work together with parents and volunteers to sort and manage redeemable cans and bottles throughout the year. Anyone is welcome to contribute by bringing cans and bottles and dropping them off in the church garage. Proceeds support youth ministry, service projects, and outreach opportunities.

Our youth also serve the congregation and community through various hands-on projects and fundraising efforts that support local and Christian organizations.
